Self Help Housing
Working with Southern Maryland Tri-County Community Action Committee, Inc., CMC is administering and overseeing the Mutual Self-Help Housing programs at Hunting Creek in Lexington Park, Maryland, and Prince Frederick, Maryland.
 
Comprised of 15 duplex units, Hunting Creek Self-Help will provide homeownership opportunities for 30 low-income families; the Prince Frederick project will provide an additional 2 duplexes. Working in groups of 6 to 8 families, the families will construct their own homes using low-interest loans provided by USDA/Rural Development.
 
Cheseldine Management Consulting is providing the grants administration, site development assistance, construction supervision, loan processing, and technical assistance to the families to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.

Asset Management
Under contract to SMTCCAC and Tri-County Development Corporation,
CMC provides asset management to 225 rental units throughout the
Southern Maryland area. In addition to providing oversight of on-site personnel (including both administrative and maintenance staff), CMC ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as investors partnership agreements, related to IRS/Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, USDA/Rural Development, and DHCD/Community Development.
 
 
Business Works
Working with several local businesses, CMC is preparing grant and loan applications through the State Business Works program to assist in the redevelopment of portions of Leonardtown, a designated revitalization neighborhood.
